The Habitat
The hamster habitat should be at least 450 sq inches. A DIY cage is sometimes the best thing to use but buying a large tank or bin can also benefit. The cage shouldn't be in poor condition and be easily chewable, like really thin plastic. A hamster runs 8 miles a night so they need plenty of space to roam and explore. Lots of toys are also a must as hamsters can get bored and start bar chewing or chewing on the cage itself. Keeo the cage full of fun toys and thing s for your hamster to do and they'll love it. Below is a picture link to a DIY cage and a video on what cages you should and shouldn't use for a hamster.
